Welcome to The Combustion Institute-Indian Section (CIIS )
The Combustion Institute is an educational non-profit, international, scientific society whose purpose is to promote the research activities in combustion science. The Indian Section is one among the 33 Sections spread world over.
The objectives of the Combustion Institute-Indian Section(CIIS) are to promote interactions among researchers, academicians, scholars and scientists interested in Combustion Science and Technology through various technical meetings, workshops and a biennial national conference and circulation of a quarterly News letter.
Message from the Chairman
The Combustion Institute- Indian Section ( CIIS ) family congratulates Dr VK Saraswat, Chairman of the CIIS on being conferred life time achievement award from Indian National Academy of Engineering ( INAE).
Earlier recipients of this award include Dr APJ Abdul Kalam ( former president of India), Ratan Tata, Narayan Murthy of Infosys and Azim Premji of Wipro among others.
Two days National Workshop on Hydrogen fuel was conducted during 19th & 20th September 2025 in Bangalore
The CIIS celebrates 50th year in November 2024 ( 1974-2024)
Dr. V.K. Saraswat delivers the opening lecture at I.I.T. Bombay during panel discussion on hydrogen fuel on 12th March 2026
