Research Interests
| Atomization and Sprays, Multiphase flows and Combustion studies using various optical diagnostics including Interferometric Laser Imaging for Droplet Sizing (ILIDS), Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV), Laser induced Fluorescence (LIF), High speed photography, Optical Connectivity technique etc. Droplet clustering in sprays, liquid atomization in various injectors, droplet evaporation and combustion, spray combustion and spray-wall interaction.

Awards & Honors | 1. Best Teacher Award for Excellence in Teaching in Mechanical Engineering for the year 2022. 2. Katopodis Prize for the best Thermofluids PhD Thesis, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Imperial College London, 2012. 3. Winner of the prestigious 8th Osborne Reynolds Research Student Award, 2010. The award recognizes the quality of young researchers studying fluid dynamics, acoustics, combustion or turbulence in the UK and their ability to communicate their work. Received gold medal among the final five participants from various UK universities. 4. Silver Medal in the prestigious 5th ERCOFTAC Da Vinci Award, 2010. Represented UK in this highly distinguished pan European competition. 5. Outstanding International Students fellowship from Dept. of Mechanical. Engineering, Imperial College London (conferred to only 4 students from India – 2006). | |
